I was delighted to see Scotts Primary, Hornchurch, secure third place in the prestigious Sunday Times rankings of England's state primary schools this year and shared this happy news with Education Secretary, Justine Greening.

I asked if she would drop in to see Scotts on her visit to the constituency today in order to congratulate in person Head Mistress, Jan Taylor, and her fantastic team of teachers. Justine was happy to oblige, and teachers and students very kindly waited behind to greet her. The school council showed her around the colourful classrooms and into the hall to see the beautiful Christmas decorations that now adorn it for the festive season. 

Justine was delighted by the warm welcome she received and offered her congratulations on what was a truly tremendous achievement by teachers, children and parents alike.
