Supporting families with the cost of living is an absolute priority for the Government.

Julia Lopez MP has therefore welcomed the confirmation that 10,700 households in Hornchurch & Upminster will receive £300 of direct support via their second Cost of Living payment between 31 October and 19 November.

This is the second of three payments totalling up to £900 for those eligible and on means-tested benefits, including Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or tax credits.

The payments will be sent out automatically to eligible households, and there is no need for households to apply. Elderly pensioner households will also receive a further £300 payment later this year in addition to the Winter Fuel Payment.

Alongside this, the Government continues in its efforts halve inflation as the best way to help everyone with the cost of living. Mrs Lopez welcomes that headline inflation has reduced since the beginning of the year.
