This morning the team and I had the pleasure of visiting Campion School, Wingletye Lane, and talking to head teacher, Mr Williams, and head of governors, Patrick Davis.
We were greeted warmly by some of the senior school officers and had a tour of the site to see the fantastic sports facilities, sixth form centre and round chapel. I was asked to wear blue as part of the school's celebration of the life of former pupil, Jack Chester, who sadly passed away after a battle with cancer. Since Jack's death, the school community has raised thousands of pounds for the Teenage Cancer Trust in his memory.
I had arranged to visit Campion as part of my aim to understand the opportunities and challenges facing our local schools, and to offer help in connecting their leadership teams to useful people in Westminster and the constituency.
