Today I was honoured to meet the elected Prime Minister and school parliament of Benhurst Primary School in Elm Park as part of their project on British values.
The Benhurst team, led by Mr Denchfield, have worked hard to create a strong school ethos, focusing on courage, resilience, compassion, justice and respect. Members of the school parliament presented to me the ways in which they have been putting their values into practice, and my team and I were given a grand tour of the school by Benhurst's Head Boy and Girl, Jenson and Rose.
I had arranged to visit Benhurst as part of my aim to understand the opportunities and challenges facing our local schools, and to offer help in connecting their leadership teams to useful people in Westminster and the constituency.
