This morning I visited Broadford Primary School, Harold Hill, to meet Executive Headteacher, Malcolm Drakes, Headteacher, Lois Nicholls and their teaching team. After a tour of the school, I sat down with some brilliant Broadford students to talk about the programmes with which they are involved to nurture their talents. Broadford recently won School of the Year and Primary School of the Year at the Times Educational Supplement awards and I was incredibly impressed by the confidence of the children I met, their interest in reading and their sharpness in some of the maths games we played together. 

I look forward to building a positive and constructive relationship with the Broadford team to ensure that our local schools keep delivering the highest quality state education to families in Hornchurch & Upminster.
