This morning the team and I had the pleasure of visiting St Ursula's Infant and Junior Schools, and talking to head teacher, Mr Craft, and head of governors, Alex Kearns. Mr Craft joined St Ursula's in April from a school in Dagenham and we discussed some of the changes that have been made to make the infant and junior schools work more seamlessly together.
It was International Day at the school with children celebrating their heritage by sharing different food with one another at stalls. We also saw the new sports pitch that has been installed to provide a new facility to the school and the wider community.
I had arranged to visit St Ursula's as part of my aim to understand the opportunities and challenges facing our local schools, and to offer help in connecting their leadership teams to useful people in Westminster and the constituency.
