Today I met Rose and James from St Joseph's Youth Club, Upminster, as part of an event to celebrate and highlight the work of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs.
Rose and James are regular attendees of St Joseph's on Wednesday evenings and shared with me their experience of the club and the great services it provides to young people in our constituency.
The National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs aims to provide a range of activities, events, training and targeted youth projects with a team of experienced youth workers, outdoor instructors, sports coaches and volunteers. They have been working since 1939 to enable young people aged 11 to 25 in Essex and East London to reach their potential and grow to full maturity as positive individuals and members of society.
St Joseph's Youth Club is open to young parishioners on a Wednesday evening from 7.30 pm till 9.00 pm during term time. It is open to boys and girls in school years 7 to 9 . They will receive a membership card upon joining and it is £1 per session. http://www.stjosephschurchupminster.com/youth-club.html
