Working with Keep Britain Tidy

In January, we met with Keep Britain Tidy, an organisation that coordinates community events for the annual Great British Spring Clean.

Environmentalism is a cause close to all our hearts and judging from our post bag, incredibly important to lots of our children in the constituency. We were very impressed with the organisation’s Eco-Schools Programme whereby schools are encouraged to voluntarily sign up to a scheme introducing children to environmental initiatives.

Together, Keep Britain Tidy and Team Lopez are working on a Litter Picking event to include local school children from across the constituency. Our intention is to encourage children to see the importance of looking after their environment and allow them to actively play a part in reducing plastic waste and litter. This event is to be hosted in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy and Havering Council and is scheduled to be held 27 March 2020.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus outbreak and Government advice, we have had to postpone this event.
