Julia Lopez MP has welcomed the formal opening of the Memorial Woodland to remember the family and friends of those sadly lost to Covid-19.
Julia’s office attended the formal opening two years on from the first national lockdown on the National Day of Remembrance.
The Memorial Woodland has been opened at Hornchurch Country Park and is a heartfelt and poignant recognition of the incredible service our key workers provided to support our community and the tragic loss of life Havering has seen because of Covid-19.
The site has had approximately 4,000 trees planted and reminds us of the community’s reliance on green spaces reconnection with nature during the pandemic. The woodland surrounds the Central Memorial, complete with stone, and provides a poignant area for reflection and remembrance.
