This year the Queen becomes the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee and today I am launching my Card for the Queen competition. Ahead of the seventieth anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation on 2 June, I would like to invite all of your budding young artists from across Hornchurch and Upminster to design a card for the Queen. The card will be part of the celebrations to commemorate this historical milestone and to thank Her Majesty for her dedication and service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
The competition is open to all primary age children from Hornchurch and Upminster and the winning design will be chosen by me, to be sent to Buckingham Palace on behalf of the people of my constituency. The winner will be invited to come to tea with me in the Houses of Parliament.
All the children need to do is to design a picture on an A4 piece of paper which, if chosen, will be printed on to a card for the Queen!
To enter, designs can be emailed to me at [email protected] or sent to my constituency office at The Coach House, 133 Hall Lane, Upminster RM14 1AL.
Entry is limited to one design per child and all entries must be received by Tuesday 3 May. Please include their full name, age, school and address.
Good luck and I cannot wait to see all the creativity!
