Today, Julia Lopez MP met Mr Henry, Headteacher of Redden Court School in Harold Wood, to congratulate him and the entire school team on their recent Outstanding rating from Ofsted, and to discuss bids to improve the school's fabric as well as her forthcoming Apprenticeship Fair.
Following their inspection in October, Ofsted rated Redden Court as Outstanding in all inspection areas, noting that pupils flourish at the school and benefit from excellent teaching, high behaviour standards and a range of extra-curricular activities to help develop their appreciation of other cultures and prepare for adulthood. Redden Court’s SEND provision also drew particular praise. Julia and Mr Henry also discussed the work of his team during the pandemic, particularly their specialism in hybrid learning and efforts to help other schools become more digital.
Julia said: 'It was great to speak with Mr Henry this morning to congratulate him and his staff upon achieving an Outstanding inspection from Ofsted. This is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the dedication of the entire staff to providing an excellent education and producing well-rounded students ready to progress to their next step in life. Redden Court School was one of the first schools I visited on my election in 2017, when the school’s specialist SEND provision was being constructed, so it is great to see that this facility and the teaching provided to SEND pupils be recognised in this way.
Ofsted also acknowledged the effort that Redden Court make to prepare students for their future careers and I was pleased to share with Mr Henry details of the Apprenticeships Fair that my team and I are currently planning with the Job Centre. I hope to welcome a number of students to this event in the New Year, and to support the school's bid for government funds for building improvements'.
