Hornchurch and Upminster MP, Julia Lopez, has launched a new survey asking residents to nominate salons and barber shops in the constituency for the British Hairdressing Awards 2024. The survey is designed to highlight their importance to local town centres and high streets.
As part of her wider work on supporting local businesses and high streets throughout Hornchurch and Upminster, MP Julia Lopez has today launched her campaign to highlight the very best salons, hairdressers and barbers in the constituency.
The MP is asking residents to get in touch and tell her about their favourite local hairdressers. Mrs Lopez will be nominating the most popular hairdresser to the British Hairdressing Awards 2024, which is run by industry publication the Hairdressing Journal.
Commenting, Julia Lopez said:
As part of my wider work on supporting our local high streets and businesses, Iām proud to help champion the amazing hairdressers, salons and barbers we have here in Hornchurch and Upminster. Iād encourage residents to get in touch and share their favourites with me.
These local businesses are vital for the future of our local high streets, often driving up footfall and having a positive impact on other nearby businesses too. If we want our high streets to thrive in the coming years, then our salons and barber shops will be a key part of that offering.
Submissions for the awards close on Friday the 28th of June at 5pm. Residents have until Friday the 21st of June to share their submissions with Julia via the below survey.
The survey forms part of a wider focus from Julia to support local high streets and businesses. Recently, Julia called on residents to help with a parallel campaign to improve local banking and postal services in the wake of Barclays' planned closure of its Hornchurch branch in May.
The MP has launched a banking survey to understand local demand for access to cash and other financial services to help make the case for a Banking Hub in the constituency. Residents can take the survey here.
