Today, I visited Corbets Tey School and met Susan Chambers, the school’s Enterprise and Technology Lead.
Corbets Tey is a specialist school for communication and interaction for children with special educational needs, providing a truly caring and nurturing environment in which students can both receive meaningful education and develop personally. I was keen to understand how Corbets Tey have coped during the pandemic and what challenges they are now facing.
It was fantastic to see how the school had grown since my last visit. Ms Allen talked me through the exciting new building development they had planned for the school which would bring a dedicated space for students to access therapy and support.
My visit also provided an excellent opportunity for me to discuss with the school a recent honour nomination to recognise the significant contribution a local resident has made to the school over many years. I shall be working closely with the school to support this nomination so that this very special character’s dedication to this vital community school is recognised.
